		<description><![CDATA[In Rembrandt&#8217;s painting, Flora, a minor Roman goddess is depicted based on portraits of Rembrandt&#8217;s wife, Saskia (who died in 1642) and from pictures in which his companion, Hendrickje Stoffels, apparently served as a model.  According to Roman mythology, Flora was associated as the goddess of Spring  and fertility.
