Earlier in 2011, many of you participated in a survey to share your thoughts about what you’d like to see from the Contemporaries.  To those that took the survey, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and suggestions—we value your input!

The Contemporaries Board spent the first six months of 2011 reviewing the survey results and making internal changes to the structure of the Contemporaries.  One of the changes:  instead of having one annual general membership meeting for all Contemporaries members, we will have three general membership meetings annually to keep members informed of Contemporaries news and events.

Another change: we are going to provide more opportunities for YOU to become involved with the Contemporaries!  87% of the survey respondents said they joined the Contemporaries to meet new people.  Here is your chance to do just that:  we’ve created four committees to help accomplish the goals of our group for the 2011-2012 year: an Event Planning Committee, a Membership Committee, a Fundraising/Art Purchase Committee, and an Education Committee.  These committee descriptions are listed below.

The best part about these groups: they are open to all current Contemporaries members!  So if you’d like to help out the Contemporaries on projects throughout the year while meeting new people, sign up to participate in one or more of these committees.

As always, than you for supporting the Contemporaries!

NC Museum of Art Contemporaries Education Committee
