“Back to the Future”, or shall we call it Back to the 80’s!
Join the Contemporaries for an 80’s BBQ bash and movie night. Come dressed in your best 80’s look or as a character from “Back to the Future”. Awards will be given for the most awesome costume. Dinner includes a barbecue buffet and 2 beers.

This will be a Most Triumphant event. Bring your Posse and get ready for a Totally Excellent evening.

Have you been interested in learning more about the Board of Directors of the Contemporaries or wondering how you could get involved on a committee?
Join members of the Contemporaries Board for a casual information session to learn more about how you can join the board or a committee. Applications will be available for open board positions and also learn about the volunteering opportunities on a committee such as education, fundraising, membership, and promotions.
Contemporaries Members and friends are welcome.
The Board of Directors is a group of 20 Contemporaries Members who manage the business and affairs of the Contemporaries membership with guidance from Museum staff. The Board meets monthly to review current activities and recommend future programs.
The Board position is a two-year term commitment. New Board members are nominated each spring. The responsibilities of the Board include:
- co-chairing a minimum of one event per year
- volunteering during events
- attending monthly board meetings (3rd Wednesday of the month, 6:15 p.m.)
- obtaining sponsorships for events
- promoting all Contemporaries events

Take a closer look at the digitally manipulated world of contemporary artist Anthony Goicolea. With a prolific body of work ranging from photography and painting to video and mixed-media installations, the Brooklyn artist is at the forefront of the contemporary art scene.
The Contemporaries are hosting the free guided tours of Alter Ego: A Decade of Work by Anthony Goicolea. Don’t miss your chance to tour the exhibition before it closes July 24!
